CHRIS NORMAN
Chris Norman was born in Redcar, Cleveland on 25.10.1950 into a show business family. He was a founder member of Smokie along with Terry Uttley and Alan Silson in the early 70’s. He was the lead vocalist and helped to give Smokie their distinctive sound. He fronted the band until they split up in 1982. They reformed in 1985 initially for one concert for charity, in aid of the victims of The Bradford Football stadium fire disaster, which in turn, because of their success in it they decided to start touring etc again. Chris left the band in 1986 to pursue a solo career. Chris is very popular in Europe and has had and indeed is still having a very successful career. He is married to Linda and they live in the Isle of Man and have 4 children Paul, Michael, Steven and Susan Jane. His first son Bryan born in 1968 died in 2001 in a tragic road accident and sadly left a family of his own.
